Executive Vice President and Provost Search

Ohio University has launched a national search for our next Executive Vice President and Provost, with the goal of welcoming a new Provost during the summer of 2024, prior to the start of the 2024-25 academic year.

Provost Search Timeline

  • November 10 — Profile draft text completed; layout and review begin.
  • December 1 — Profile formatted, approved, and finalized.
  • December 5 — Search launch - advertising placed, and outreach begins.
  • Week of January 22 — Search Committee Meeting. Review of draft candidate assessment form and semifinalist questions. Review portal login instructions.
  • February 1 — Deadline for best consideration.
  • February 8–9 — Search committee meets with AGB Search to select semifinalists (6-9) for first round meetings (2 hours).
    AGB Search conducts preliminary due diligence on semifinalists.
  • Week of February 26 — Semifinalist interviews, followed by joint deliberation for selection of finalists (at least 2 consecutive days).
  • Weeks of March 18 or 25 — On-campus finalist interviews.
    AGB Search conducts further due diligence, including background checks and off-list reference calls.
  • Before April 29 — Offer and announcement of new provost.
